The Golden Sovereign Hotel
has a calm and relaxed atmosphere which is due to its style
and the variety of people staying. The Golden Sovereign
is privately owned and staffed by the proprietors Stefano
Pini (Steve), Paul Scott and Hugh Todd.
The Hotel is one of
the oldest buildings in Alumhurst Road and was constructed
around the 1880s as the summer residence for a wealthy Victorian
family.
The hotel is situated
between Alum Chine and Branksome Dene
Chine close to the sea with miles of beautiful safe,
sandy beaches. Alum Chine and Branksome Dene Chine are picturesque
wooded ravines where you can stroll along naturally shaded
paths to and from the beach.
Alumhurst Road is the
main road leading to Alum Chine and its beaches. Fine
views of the coastline stretching from the Isle
of White, the beaches of Christchurch, Boscombe, Bournemouth
and Poole to Old Harry's Rocks on the Purbeck peninsular
to the west are only a two hundred metres or a five
minute walk away. A further two hundred yards away
are the clean sandy beaches of Bournemouth and Poole. Regular
bus services to Westbourne, Bournemouth and Poole run past
the hotel with stops nearby. |
